Setting Up Your Corporation Add-On Options
What is a Corporate Seal?
A corporate seal is a stamp or embossed seal containing the name of the corporation, used to confirm that documents have been properly approved.
Historically, corporate seals were used on most contracts and share certificates. Today, they are not used as frequently but are occasionally requested by banks and land title offices.
Why We Don’t Include Them
We find that fewer than 1 in 10 corporations actually requires a corporate seal. Most contracts can be signed without one. Many incorporation websites sell you a seal suggesting it’s required, but it rarely is.
If you’re in an industry that requires a corporate seal, or would still like one, let us know and we can order one on your behalf for an additional fee.
